18 Reasons to Live in Kansas City

I think we can all agree that Kansas City is pretty awesome! Whether you live in Kansas City already or are thinking about moving here, these are 18 wonderful reasons to live in Kansas City.

  1. THE FOOD

It would be wrong if we didn’t mention the barbecue first – Jack Stack, Kansas City Joe’s, Arthur Bryant’s, Gate’s BBQ, and Q39.

But it would also be wrong of us to only mention barbecue because the city is filled with other equally mouthwatering cuisine. You can enjoy Italian at the Godfather-like Garozzo’s restaurant.

Get your Mexican groove on at El Patron on Southwest Boulevard and Port Fonda in the hipster vibed Westport.

Yes, obviously Kansas City is in the Midwest and yes, we do have access to delicious steaks! Our favorites? Anton’s Taproom, Pierpont’s at Union Station, The Rieger Hotel and Grill, Jess & Jim’s in Martin City and the hidden gem, Webster House.

Not only do we have crazy savory steak, but the burgers, oh, the burgers. Westside Local and The Jacobson hit the nail on the head when it comes to good burgers, and the black bean burger at the Beer Kitchen will have you rethinking your love for meat. They all will melt in your mouth.

The Seafood scene rocks it with the Newport Grill and McCormick & Schmick’s!

. . . and don’t forget the wings at The Peanut.

What more could you need?

  1. THE DRINKS

Not only are local breweries like the Boulevard Brewery and KC Bier Company popping up like crazy but coffee shops are too.

Places like PT’s Coffee, The Roasterie, Hi-Hat Coffee, Coffee Girls Cafe and The Filling Station have Kansas Citians and their visitors craving good quality coffee all day long!

Craving a fresh and unique cocktail? Seasons 52 on the Country Club Plaza has got your covered!

  1. THE SPORTS

After the 2016 season of all Kansas City’s professional sports teams (the Royals, the Chiefs, and Sporting KC), no explanation is needed as to why Kansas City is rockin’ it when it comes to sports! Not only are we World Series Champions, but we are also the loudest fans in the country. We are talking like, world-record holding loudest fans! And when it comes to tailgating, you’re in the right hands.

If pro sports ain’t your thing, Kansas City is no more than a 2hr drive to Mizzou, KU, and K-State. Kansas City is also host to this years NCAA Big 12 Basketball tournament!
